Printing
The house printer costs 5 cents per page. Please deposit money in the jar near the printer or use the Venmo instructions attached to the jar.
...in the mail room
We have a Brother MFC-L2740DW printer in the mail room! One easy way of printing is to use the computer in the mail room to print! Download whatever you want to download onto the machine, then select the Brother MFC-L2740DW printer in the print dialog.
If you'd like to be cooperative (and also prevent other people from looking through your files), please delete the file you downloaded from the machine after you've finished printing it!
...remotely, from your computer
The printer is connected to our wifi. If you're connected to HiP wifi, you can add the printer to your device to print remotely!
The IP address for the scanner and printer is 192.168.1.75. Follow the appropriate instructions for adding a printer depending on your operating system (for now, you'll have to look this up on your own).
What to do when the printer dies
If the printer stops working, don't panic! Our printer is old, but it still has some fight left in it :^) If you can't connect to the printer, first try turning it off and on again. If printing isn't working and the printer won't turn on, follow these instructions:
- Remove the power cord for ≥ 30 seconds.
- Press and hold the power button, then while holding down the power button, insert the power cord back in.
- Keep holding the power button until the printer has turned on, or 15 seconds have passed.
- Repeat up to three times if necessary.
If doing this still doesn't resolve the issue, message the Network Manager.
